What is the Bayou City Art Festival - Downtown?

The Bayou City Art Festival is a beloved signature art event for the city of Houston. It is a fun and interactive outdoor art festival for people of all ages and is one of the top-ten ranked outdoor art festivals in the nation. The two-day festival features the works of 250 national and international artists, two live entertainment stages, a craft beer garden, a food truck park, an Art Bar, an Active Imagination Zone for kids of all ages, a VIP Hospitality Lounge presented by Frost Bank, an interactive community art project, a Culinary Arts Stage, the Collegiate Art Collective exhibit, and more! The outdoor event offers visitors the opportunity to meet with exhibiting artists, view original works from 19 art disciplines, and purchase world-class art, prints, jewelry, sculptures, and more at prices for everyone.

The festival is taking place inside Sam Houston Park, and along Allen Parkway, in downtown Houston, Texas.

What is the price for admission?

Online pre-purchased tickets are required. Patrons can purchase tickets at the gate using their smartphones or other wifi-capable devices. Volunteers will be available at the gate to assist if needed.

Online Adult General Admission tickets are available at an “Early Bird” discounted rate of $15 until September 23rd, after which the cost of admission will be $18. For children ages, 6-12 tickets are $5 and children five and under are free. You can purchase your online tickets here.

Where is the festival and where can I park?

Bayou City Art Festival will be held in Sam Houston Park, and Along Allen Parkway in downtown Houston, Texas.

On-site parking for the festival is not available. 

Consider ridesharing! The Rideshare drop-off/pick-up point will be at 301 S. Picnic Lane, Houston, Texas 77024. Traffic Control Officers will be on-site to direct rideshare traffic to the appropriate drop-off/pick-up location.

What time does the parking shuttle bus start each day?

The Parking Shuttle Bus service begins each day at 8:30 am for festival volunteers and staff. The shuttles run continuously throughout the day. Shuttle buses will depart every 15 minutes (or sooner if full) from the NW Mall parking lot. Shuttle service from the festival site back to the NW Mall will follow the same estimated time frame.

What is Bayou City Art Festival doing about COVID-19?

Bayou City Art Festival is an outdoor event. Producers of the festival will follow the suggestions and safety guidelines set forth by the Mayor’s Office of the City of Houston, and the CDC. Hand sanitizing stations will be available in all areas of the festival. While masks are not required at this event, it is up to the discretion of each exhibiting artist to require masks within their individual booth. We ask that patrons comply with any request to do so. If ticket holders have been exposed to COVID-19 or its variants, or if they are feeling sick or ill, we ask that they stay home.

Does the festival benefit local nonprofit organizations?

Yes! A portion of the proceeds from Bayou City Art Festival Downtown will benefit six local charities. Each nonprofit provides volunteers and has the option to host a crafting station in the Active Imagination Zone. The six nonprofit partners benefiting from the 2022 Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park include ArtReach, A Cause to Give Us Paws, The Women’s Fund, Fresh Arts, Orange Show for Visionary Art, and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Do you have VIP tickets?

Bayou City Art Festival and Frost Bank are offering a limited availability VIP ticket experience, which will include a tented oasis from 11 am – 5 pm each day, with light bites, complimentary beer, wine, and other beverages. The relaxing setting will feature roaming musicians, a phone charging station, upgraded restroom facilities, and more. VIPs will receive all-day access to the VIP area for the festival date that their ticket has been purchased, along with VIP parking and complimentary parking shuttle passes.

VIP parking is available at the Memorial Park Fitness Center. VIP shuttle service will be provided to/from the festival entrance.

Is there food and beverages available at the festival? 

Yes, there is a large food truck park located at the center of the festival and a wide variety of other food and beverage vendors throughout the site. You can find a list of food vendor options here.

What can I bring to the festival?

You can bring blankets, sunscreen, mosquito spray, hats, sunglasses, umbrellas. You are also allowed to bring strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs, but keep in mind there will be large crowds.

For everyone to have a fun and worry-free day, please refrain from bringing the following prohibited items into the festival: Pets (service animals only), outside food or beverages, skateboards, hoverboards, scooters, rollerblades, laser pointers, boom boxes, fireworks, weapons including pocket knives, drones or any flying toys.

Are there restrooms available? 

Yes, portable facilities are located throughout the festival grounds.  ADA-approved facilities are available in all areas of the festival as well.

Do you have ATMs at the festival?

No. The Bayou City Art Festival is a cash-free event.

Where is EMS located at the festival? 

EMS is centrally located at the site or you may ask a festival staff representative with a radio for assistance with an emergency.

Will there be security at the festival?

Yes. 24-hour security is provided by the Harris County Sherrif's Office, as well as on-site private security officers.

Pets are not allowed, with the exception of official service animals. Documentation may be required. Service animals must be on a leash at all times.
Please be respectful of the individual artists and their artwork and ask before filming/photographing them or their works.

Everyone is subject to a security search upon entry. All purses/bags/backpacks will be subject to search before entry, for the safety of all patrons.
